“I spent ten years in a call center position and thirty nine years in sales. I took a great deal of pride in how I did my job. My attitude was to always put the customer’s needs before my own. We all read the stats on those poles (which I am beginning to wonder if those stats are there just to discourage people and say the first, “I told you so.”) Now I said all that to say this. The quality of people you have working for you really SHINES through each of them. Every one of them ALWAYS has gone the extra mile to get me to the best solutions. I can tell that their training has been excellent. I couldn’t have trained them better myself in the quality of their customer service skills. My hope is this, I know this is a new company and everyone is excited and really wants to do well in all they do. I can see this. I hope that in 5 years, 10 years they will still have this same quality of excitement when those calls are coming in then. That’s the difference between good quality people and just good training. But for now, I am most fortunate because I have you all with me now. I only hope they see how fortunate they are to be working for men like Matt and yourself. You also need to know I have need to say a special thanks to Mike and Malla. Malla spent a lot of his patience on me one day and never made me feel like I was a nuisance to him. I believe I called him several times that day because I kept messing up what he had just fixed. He was awesome. Mike is very special to me too. I can trust him with anything. Why I know I can say this about him is because he cared enough for me to say, “I really don’t like your website.” He spoke the truth to me without any malice in his voice. “I signed on with Thrive in the beginning of May 2008. The previous January, I had officially “retired” from my job as a word processor in San Diego and moved to Deming, NM. I knew full well when I made the move that I really wasn’t financially able to retire, but I just couldn’t face working 9-to-5 in an office anymore.

Determined to work at home and work for myself, I started looking into internet marketing. I bought an eBook which was excellent as an overview of what was involved in selling on the internet. What I mostly learned from my reading was that the process of becoming successful on the internet is VERY involved.

I had literally turned the last page of the book, and was thinking, “Oh boy, now what do I do? How do I even know where to start?” when the phone rang and it was a representative from Thrive. He told me that the Thrive mentor program was made up of people who were selling things successfully on the internet, who had all been through the process of setting up successful businesses online, who knew what to do and in what order to do it, and who would coach me through setting up my own internet business.

The representative said that if I did what was suggested by my coaches, I would make good money. How did he know? Because the folks who were going to make the suggestions had already made good money and they would teach me how to do it too.

And they have done just that. The eLibrary is great. I particularly like the benchmarks because they give me a feeling of accomplishment when I’ve reached them.

The entire staff at Thrive and the Lightwave Web Builder really know their stuff, so that if you need help with something, the help is there.

When I was ready to have my website reviewed so that I could start test marketing, I e-mailed my team coaches. Somehow, the system “burped” and my email was lost. Two weeks later, when I called to ask my coach why I hadn’t heard back about the website review and he discovered the email hadn’t been received, he asked Rob, the Marketing Director of Thrive, to put a high priority rush on the review of my website so that I could get into the test marketing phase ASAP. I made the call on Wednesday. By the following Monday, my website had been reviewed and edited, Rob had finished the marketing package that was part of my contract with Thrive, and I was live online. You couldn’t ask for any better service than that!
The Thrive and Lightwave Builder staffs truly want to see us all successful, and I think knowing they all have that mind-set has really been the most important element of the program for me. There have been moments along the way where I felt overwhelmed by trying something totally new. But every step of the way, someone from Thrive has reminded me to take the steps one at a time and keep thinking about where I’ll be a year from now.

Just touching base to let you guys know what I'm up to. As you know I have branched out. I've set up a couple web sites with a couple of my domains, while I try to resell the rest. I have also gotten involved with Vemma and VOIP. I am learning a lot. I have even published an article and working on a couple others. All in all I have to say, thank you for giving me the support and advice I needed to take action.

I got over the fear of making calls. I am now able to handle objections and I am no longer intimidated by perceived gaps in my knowledge of domains and reselling. I now understand that I am providing a service.

When I started domain processing, I had no idea I would enjoy it so much. It is a chance for me to do something I love and I get paid. I read the book "do what you love and the money will follow", but I didn't think it was possible until now, and I have my team to thank because if you guys opened the door.

Domain processing has given me the opportunity to combine the fun of research, the risk and excitement of an auction, and the joy of providing something that customers want. I met such interesting and nice people processing domains. It's hard work, but it's so much fun it doesn't seem like work.

It has been exactly 2 months to the day since we signed up with Thrive Learning and today we can actually say that we have a website up and running AND made our first sale! Following the plan laid out by Thrive, my husband, Dave, and I found a great niche and proceeded to find a dropship supplier - actually, we have three different suppliers who are REAL dropshippers, not those suppliers listed in the various ebooks promoted online who actually charge significantly more than you can buy the items for on eBay!

With the help of Team 2 in finding a niche and getting started, along with the technical support team at Lightwave, we have worked back and forth between the two of you to create our fully functional website, www.theneed4speed.com. With no previoius experience creating websites, we got the site up and running in only one week and have spent the ensuing time fine-tuning it and preparing for search engine submissions, and have an arsenal of new products to list in the coming weeks. We haven't spent anything on inventory since we place the items from the suppliers on the site and it looks like we have a fully stocked warehouse.

As I mentioned earlier, we made our first sale this weekend to a gentleman in the United Kingdom. He searched the web for a particular RC helicopter that is not available in the UK and he found our site - even before we actually had the chance to list it on Google and the other search engines. (I actually found out that we are already listed on Google without submitting the site!) He called a couple of times while we arranged for shipping to the UK and he was so pleased that we were actually able to get it for him that he is looking at other items to buy from us.

The sale was $109.95 and we paid the dropshipper $71.95, for a $38.00 profit - that's no small change! The holiday season is only just beginning, and we hope to get many more orders - this was certainly a great start, and we aren't even on most of the search engines yet! I have created a blog and am planning to write and submit a press release.
